چکیده

Phytobezoars are an uncommon cause of small bowel obstruction and accounts for <6% of all admissions for mechanical small bowel obstruction. Because most bezoars originated from the stomach and may break off, producing small bowel obstruction, it is advisable to examine the entire bowel for these cast-offs especially when removing gastric bezoars. Because the symptoms of bezoars are non-specific and mimic those of other gastrointestinal diseases, delay in diagnosis and treatment is sometimes inevitable. With improved diagnostic aids and advanced skills in laparoscopy, laparoscopic approach offers a suitable alternative that is robust, effective and safe.
